We are still getting caught up on blogging, so I'm now going to tell you about Madeline's birthday! We were much lower key this year. Well kinda...
We went out to dinner at the Free State (Madeline's choice, right!?) and then ice cream at Cold Stone after. She got a stuffed puppy and a bed for her babies and two books from us on her actual birthday night! And never out of the moment, Noah got some legos from his sister just because he is the greatest big brother.
And earlier that day, I went to school with cupcakes and we ate them with Madeline's class. It was so fun. She was super possessive - "That's my Mommy."
And then on Sunday, we had the usual gang over to celebrate with us at the house. And it was so nice and lovely to spend the afternoon with them.
Just a note about Noah being the best big brother...everyone in the house is under the weather. Whether we are tired from being up with Madeline or tired from coughing, we are all tired. But the show goes on, so this morning I got up and went to the gym. Both kids were in bed with us, so after I left it was just Matty, Noah, and Madeline. Madeline was fussing about something because she doesn't feel good, and as my frustrated and tired husband started to get grumpy with her, he heard his son say in the softest, sweetest, "It's okay, baby girl. Do you want to come and snuggle with me? It's okay." And she did, and all was quiet.

Madeline - You are awesome! We love to hear you sing your ABC's and tell us that you want to "Do it myself!" You are a great sleeper and an even better eater! You love school and your "frens". You love to play with "my peoples", especially "Punzel Punzel" and "Sleeping booty" and your babies. Everything is "it's my favorite", and you tell us once an hour that you "love pink and purple." You are already potty trained and you did it yourself! You love to draw circles and happy faces and sad faces. Your favorite song is "Roar" by Katy Perry, called the "animal song" by you, and "Dog Days are Over" by Florence and the Machine, or as you call it the "new animal song". You like to "shake your booty" and "show us your dance moves". And when convenient, you like to "sit on my X", meaning the seat right next to your mom or daddy. And you love your "broder" - maybe best of all! Happy birthday, girl!

Beautiful words to capture the memory of this snapshot in her life! Great birthday recap!
Love the story about Madeline. She has learned a lot in her 2 years.
I almost cried when Noah told her to come snuggle with him. What a beautiful thing to tell his baby girl.
Your "baby" girl is so precious. Love her face. Sounds like her personality is even more lovable.
I love it!! Miss you so much!
