The first snip is the deepest....

So the first snip has occurred! I just talked to Lance to get an update and here is what I know....
Lance gave Noah the snipped pacifier and he took a few steps and then came back and wanted to know why it was broken. Lance told him he was a big boy now and so that's why his pacifier was broken. He said Noah pondered it, and seemed to accept that answer for a bit. However, he then went Shelby - his favorite at school - and told her it was broken and was semi-asking for her to help him. She kept the message consistent - he was a big boy now. Lance said Noah then brought it over to him and told Lance that he didn't need it, he was ready to go to pre-1 now. Lance thought this was going to be a breeze! But wait....
Then Noah came back and got it, and went and laid down. He got really frustrated and wasn't crying hard, but was crying/whining. What usually takes about 5 minutes, getting Noah to sleep, it took about 45.  He was asleep when I talked to Lance, holding his "broken" pacifier. The good news is that he was able to soothe himself to sleep in the end.  He didn't let Lance touch him, and he kept asking for his mommy and daddy.
Now wish us luck tonight. Matty just ran to the store and got Noah a "Woody" doll, so we are going to introduce that tonight at bedtime once Noah informs us that his pacifier is broken.
